My understanding of psychology

By|Yang Hu According to the New Oxford American Dictionary, psychology is basically the scientific study of the human mind and its functions, especially those affecting behavior in each context. In shorter words, psychology is basically the study of mind and behaviors. No, a person studying psychology is called psychologist. To become a psychologist your first must get a PhD in psychology. Then you must get a government license to actually become a psychologist. Also, psychology requires a different perspective in philosophy and religions. So, it is usually hard to become a psychologist.

The American psychology in the 20 th Century played an important role in world psychology. Lots of experiments that effect psychology now and psychology at that time were held in the USA. The United States was an important place in the research of psychology in the world. Many experiments affecting the development of modern psychology was conducted in America. The conclusions of these experiments influenced the direction of psychological theory in a big way. At the same time, the political, economic, social, and cultural life of the United States is also very widely used in psychology, and the psychological factors influencing American government policies are usually very strong. Depression, which is a mental illness. There is no medicine that can treat sadness and self-doubt yet, even if you use a special medicine, everyone's mind is different. So, you can't just have one medicine for everyone that has depression. It is a complex sickness that can be caused by sadness, extended self-doubt, and heavy anxiety. These are all feelings that need to be talked through. I would say that the talking therapy would do best of depression and anxiety. Anxiety is caused by too much work and sometimes extreme decisions. People can talk with a psychologist about their stress and anxiety. They can help you in situations of need. The psychologist can decide a treatment from the talk therapy and the talk therapy can also be suited with the patient. As for drugs, they are just given to the patient that has the sickness but maybe it is best suited for the patient. If I was to become a psychologist, I have become a professional in one of the three divisions of the APA. The first one being Division 6. Which is Behavioral Neuroscience and Comparative Psychology. I chose this type of psychology because it has something to do with science. And one of my passions is also science. I also would like to know more about the human brain ,and how it works, where the emotions come from, and how the neurons in your brain communicate. That is why I think this would be a cool division of psychology to have a career in. And, if we do this division well. You can make some extreme discoveries about the human brain which can maybe help with curing depression and other mental disorders. The second one might be Division 28 . Which is Psychopharmacology and Substance Abuse. I always felt that I should know why some people just love smoking. Why some people just can't stop it, and why even though it's bad they also like it. I feel like if you know this one well this could be a very very interesting topic to have a career on. Especially if one of your family members has drug abuse. The word Psychopharmacology means the scientific study of the effects of drugs on the mind and behavior. This means you can also study why and how this drug affects your body. The last one will probably be Division 43 . Which is Society for Family Psychology. This division I think goes into a persons wellness. If a person doesn't have good wellness, then they might suffer depression and anxiety. That is why I think this division is important because, family is the most important part of wellness. Family is where you are from and where you always will be. So it is very important to have family. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of mental health disorders 5th edition is a type of diagnostic cure for mental disorders. DMS5 is established by the APA. DMS5 has been changed from DSM4 for in the following reasons: family characteristic differences, genetic risk factors, specific environmental risk factors, and biological markers. It is why DMS5 is better. These indicators serve as important guidelines to help the Working Group decide how to categorize obstacles, it is helpful to guide clinical practice. In the fifth edition of the classification manual, future research can improve the understanding of the origin of the disease, as well as the pathophysiological and commonalities among various obstacles, and provide a basis for future replication models. The new edition adapts to future research in neurobiology, genetics, and epidemiology. DSM-5 roughly classifies mental diseases into 22 categories. Some of them are feeding and eating disorders, dysphagia, restrictive eating, enuresis, etc. Socrates lived an honorable life. Some said that he was so impressive that many others were moved to write about him. He was born at 469bce and died at 399bce.He believed strongly in justice. He believed that virtue is knowledge and famously stated that, "The unexamined life is not worth living." Despite his noble character, Socrates suffered a lot of criticism that eventually led to his condemnation and subsequent death. Because of Socrates's beliefs and his irreverence toward the gods, he was executed. In the Romans that Socrates might make the gods angry.

The Socratic Method is an educational term published in 2013. A teaching method developed and used by Socrates. The core is that the teacher does not directly tell the students what they should know, but according to the students' existing knowledge and experience, let them get familiar with the topic through discussion, question asking, and gradually guide the students to draw their own conclusions. Socrates, despite having written nothing, is considered one of the handful of philosophers who forever changed how philosophy itself was to be conceived. All our information about him is second-hand and most of it vigorously disputed, but his trial and death at the hands of the Athenian democracy is nevertheless the founding myth of the academic discipline of philosophy, and his influence has been felt far beyond philosophy itself, and in every age. Because his life is widely considered paradigmatic not only for the philosophic life but, more generally, for how anyone ought to live, Socrates has been encumbered with the adulation and emulation ordinarily reserved for religious figures - strange for someone who tried so hard to make others do their own thinking and for someone convicted and executed on the charge of irreverence toward the gods. Certainly, he was impressive, so impressive that many others were moved to write about him. He was born at 469bce and died at 399bce. He died because of not being nice to the god. The principle of the Socratic method is that students learn through the use of critical thinking, reasoning, and logic. This technique involves finding holes in their own theories and then patching them up. In law school specifically, a professor will ask a series of Socratic questions after having a student summarize a case, including relevant legal principles associated with the case. Professors often manipulate the facts, or the legal principles associated with the case to demonstrate how the resolution of the case can change greatly if even one fact changes. The goal is for students to solidify their knowledge of the case by thinking critically under pressure. In Greek mythology, Apollo is the god of the sun, light, music, and poetry. He is the son of Zeus and Leto. Dionysus is the god of grape harvest and making wine, orchards and fruit, vegetation, insanity, ritual madness. I am surprised that there is even a god of wine, so I am guessing that he isn’t very good God since wine isn’t a healthy drink and he is also the god of insanity and ritual madness. Apollo on the other hand would probably make a very good God, since he is the god of sun which gives all life on earth. Introspection means to examine or observes their own mental and emotional process. This type of treatment makes patients aware of their own mental state. It can’t help them, understand themselves better, and maybe even cure their mental illness. First, Sophocles is not a god. He is one of three ancient Greek tragedians, the other two are Aeschylus and Euripides. Has written over 100 plays but only some has been preserved till today (including: Ajax, Antigone and Electra). According to the new Oxford dictionary, Catharsis means the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions. J osef Breuer and Sigmund Freud discovered catharsis in 1895. This, basically just releasing strong emotions through art. Mythology is a collection of myths, especially one belonging to a particular religion. A mess is a story that is passed on and is usually false. An observation of an object usually providing recognition of somebody or something. Usually used to prove something. Catharses means the process of releasing and thereby providing relief from strong emotions. This would include hitting something because you're mad or just listening to music to relieve stress. In the story Antigone written by Sophocles, Antigone is determined to bury Polyneices even if it means Breaking the law. In Mulan, Mulan tries to take his father's place in the war because she doesn't want her father to get hurt. Both stories’ protagonists is trying to help their family even though it's against the law, they show true love to their family and will do anything to help them. Hercules was once put under a spell and accidentally murder his own wife and two sons. In Harry Potter, Voldemort murdered his own father, Harry's parents and godfather, and so many more. These characters have gone mad. They have killed their own family members. Both characters have gone mad and killed their family.

Pegasus was born right at Medusa’s death when Perseus killed her. He came out of the wound that killed Medusa (his so-called mom). Pegasus and Buckbeak have many similar points for example they are both mythical creatures and they can both fly. They both represent positive emotions. Pegasus was even a god of hope. Now for some movie comparisons. Jackie Chan is an expert at Marshall arts. But has also suffered a lot from the fights that he attended. He suffered many injuries, including spinal damage, broken teeth, and dislocated shoulders. Charlie Chaplin suffered from having limited speech, sight and hearing. He also suffered from many strokes leading to his death. In Snow White and the seven dwarves thought that Snow White had died, they are all very unhappy. Toy story, woody thought Bo dead. But he ends up, very surprised when he sees Bo and the antique shop. In Snow White, the prince and the seven dwarves, were all startled when they saw Snow White come back to life again.
Both movies are about war for power and both story’s protagonist are struggling to find what is most important to them. They all must face the same challenges that war brings them. However, the war in Black panther is a fictional story, the war in Birth of Nation is based on the real US Civil War. They also happened at different times and the message is very different. Thomas Cruise is still alive today but during the 1900’s, he was the famous actor. Douglas Fairbanks is also a very good actor. He mostly just acts silent films like Robin Hood. However, he died on December 12, 1939. They both were good at acting and has done it for their whole life. They also wrote some movies as well. There are some major differences between the two films. First, talkies are a type of movie that includes dialogue, music, and other forms of sound. The Jazz Singer however is a musical produced by Darryl F. Zanuck and is 90 minutes long. So, we can say that the jazz singer is a type of talkies.
