3.4万个账号，被关停！

More than 6,300 individuals were prosecuted and 34,000 accounts were shut down in China's crackdown on harmful online rumors, according to the Ministry of Public Security on Friday.

Li Tong, deputy director and inspector of the Cybersecurity Protection Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, highlighted the results of a 100-day targeted campaign against the spread of online rumors, which took place from April to July this year.

在依法严厉惩治造谣诽谤等网络暴力违法犯罪活动方面，2023年，全国公安机关重拳打击整治造谣诽谤、谩骂侮辱、侵犯隐私等突出网络暴力违法犯罪行为。截至目前，共查处网络暴力违法犯罪案件110起，采取刑事强制措施112人，行政处罚96人，批评教育472人，指导重点网站平台阻断删除涉网络暴力信息2.7万条，禁言违规账号500余个。

In 2023, China has taken strong measures to combat the prominent issue of online violence, including spreading harmful rumors, defamation, insults and abuse, and privacy infringements. As of now, a total of 110 cases involving online violence and criminal offenses have been investigated and dealt with, he said.

李彤表示，为确保社会大局持续稳定，全力维护人民群众合法权益，公安部决定将2024年作为打击整治网络谣言专项行动年，部署全国公安机关开展为期一年的专项行动，坚持打防管控一体推进，持续加大全链条、全平台、全领域打击力度，多措并举推动打击整治走深走实。
