外交部：中国政府从来不拿原则做交易

对此，毛宁表示，世界上只有一个中国，中华人民共和国政府是代表全中国的唯一合法政府，台湾是中国领土不可分割的一部分。坚持一个中国原则是国际大义、人心所向、大势所趋。我们相信会有更多的国家选择站在历史正确一边，站在国际正义一边，作出符合本国人民根本和长远利益的正确决断。

There is but one China in the world. The government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory. Standing up for the one-China principle is the right thing to do and is where global opinion trends and where the arc of history bends. We are convinced that more countries will choose to stand on the right side of history and the side of international justice and make the right decision that serves the fundamental and long-term interests of their countries and peoples.

我想强调的是，一个中国原则是国际关系基本准则和国际社会普遍共识。中国政府从来不拿原则做交易。台湾民进党当局罔顾历史大势、拒不接受一个中国原则、千方百计图谋拓展所谓“国际空间”，从事“台独”分裂行径，是没有任何出路的，注定以失败告终。

I want to stress that the one-China principle is a basic norm governing international relations and a prevailing consensus of the international community. The Chinese government never barters away principles. The DPP authorities in Taiwan disregard the prevailing trend of history, refuse the one-China principle, make every effort to expand the so-called "international space", and conduct separatist activities seeking "Taiwan independence". This is doomed to failure and will lead nowhere.
