It was so much at the time that eventually led to job losses, profit losses, at least one company had to shut down. So in trying to save the place, there was some real damage that was done there.
The "China bad" narratives are constantly revived in the West again and again. There's no doubt in my mind that the West is winning the propaganda battle but it's at the expense of losing the bigger picture. With being conditioned to be so fearful of China and to lose our curiosity about China that we're not going to study it and learn from it at our expense.
