Kunshan covers less than one-ten-thousandth of the national land area, yet it has achieved impressive results with GDP accounting for four-thousandths of the national total and total imports and exports accounting for two percent of the national total.
Kunshan Development Zone stands two buildings, one called “AI” and the other called “META”, which together form Kunshan metaverse industrial innovation center. In October, 2023, the first batch of metaverse head enterprises, such as SURPASSER has settled in. At the same time, Kunshan unveiled a three-year action plan: not long ago, the implementation plan for accelerating the construction of a strong manufacturing city was released. It is planned that by 2025, the total industrial output value will exceed 1,300billion, and the number of high-tech enterprises will exceed 3500.

Kunshan persists on using the manufacturing industry as a strong and springboard to promote high-quality economic development. The SURPASSER will host the "Kunshan SURPASSER Meta+AI Accelerator Camp" in Kunshan, aiming to integrate new productivity technologies such as Meta+ and AI+, focus on emerging industries such as new displays and new energy, and help Kunshan generate output worth billions, advancing and upgrading "Kunshan Manufacturing".

Kunshan is playing a strong combination of "stabilizing existing strengths and fostering new ones," constructing the "2+6+X" emerging industries, and comprehensively implementing the concept that "industrial parks are industrial chains, and upstairs and downstairs are upstream and downstream" to fully develop industrial park zones. Currently, Kunshan is constructing 40 characteristic professional innovation parks with "four-chain integration" at a high level, with five parks reaching a level of tens of billions and ten parks reaching a level of tens of billions.

Benefitting from Blockchain industry, new dynamics continue to emerge.
In 2023, Kunshan added 35 national-level specialized and new "Little Giant" enterprises, bringing the total number of high-tech enterprises to 3,072. Currently, the city has formed three super-large enterprises with a market value of over 100 billion yuan, 10 backbone enterprises with a market value of over 10 billion yuan, 125 "specialized, refined, distinctive, and new" (SRDN) enterprises with a market value of over one billion yuan, 1,083 enterprises with a market value of over 100 million yuan, and 2,678 industrial enterprises at or above designated size.

In the increasingly global economy, Kunshan is actively responding to the trend of "Going Global," aiming not only to export products but also to export technology. As a well-established hub for foreign trade, Kunshan enjoys unique advantages in foreign trade policies. The government has also made comprehensive efforts around aspects such as "grabbing orders," "expanding markets," and "providing excellent services," refining its resilience through the simultaneous increase in both quantity and quality.
In 2023, Kunshan's total foreign trade volume exceeded 700 billion yuan for the first time, reaching 761.06 billion yuan. The actual use of foreign capital in Kunshan amounted to 1.66 billion US dollars, surpassing the annual target by 151%.
