洪都拉斯驻华大使萨尔瓦多·蒙卡达（Salvador Moncada）不仅是一名外交官，也是该国著名的科学家和药理学家，曾入围诺贝尔医学奖。在接受中国日报《Hello外交官》栏目专访时，腰背不太舒服的他正在尝试做中医针灸，并且已经预约了三个疗程。
他表示，有着西医研究背景的他有时不理解为什么某些草药的组合能产生特定疗效，但他相信传统中医可以对世界作出很多贡献。
从科学家到外交官
2023年3月，洪都拉斯宣布与台湾断绝所谓“外交关系”，此后成为中国第182个建交国。

If we improve the visa situation, it's easier for Chinese people to visit several places in one single trip, that would facilitate and improve things in general."
