This isn't the first instance of Jay Chou's influence reaching the scientific community. In 2020, Sun Zhixin, a postgraduate student at the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, named a unique trilobite species dating back 500 million years as "Fantasia Bug," paying homage to the singer's second album. "Jay Chou's music has deeply influenced me. Naming it 'Fantasia' is a tribute to Jay Chou's imaginative and free-spirited musical style. I suppose it's a romantic gesture from a science enthusiast," said Sun.
