Chinese social media platform Douyin has indefinitely banned the internet celebrity Qing Chenjingliang after she attempted to revive her online career through new accounts. Qing has a criminal record for fraud.
The platform's official account announced on Sunday that Qing's new account created in March 2025 had been indefinitely banned with profit-making privileges revoked. This came after her original account was indefinitely suspended in 2024 for policy violations.
Qing, 25, made headlines in 2018 when a wanted poster with her mugshot went viral due to Qing's striking appearance. She was part of a "wine scam" gang in Mianyang, Sichuan province that defrauded patrons of over 1.4 million yuan through bar scams. After turning herself in to the police in November 2018, she received a 14-month prison sentence.
