According to an official statement from Tencent Customer Service to users, the folding mechanism primarily targets accounts "frequently sharing promotional or marketing content". This move aims to "optimize the user experience".
"Moments is a space for users to share and follow friends' life updates," the statement clarified. "We encourage sharing fresh life experiences and personal reflections here."网友：“舒服了！”
不少网友留言表示，现在微信朋友圈的“活人感”不够，一刷下来满屏的广告或者公司信息。
对于微信推出的朋友圈折叠新功能，很多网友都表示“舒服了，可以过滤掉不想看到的消息”。
Many users expressed strong support for the change online. Complaints about Moments being flooded with ads and corporate posts were common. "Finally comfortable! This filters out stuff I don't want to see," commented one user.
