The pendant, from the brand's Year of the Horse Chinese zodiac collection, features a combined ox-and-horse character on the front and the word "jia"  engraved on the back.

Some internet users argued that the design carried an ironic reference to overworked employees, interpreting it as a subtle form of mockery toward working people. Others believed the brand was intentionally tapping into internet humor and wordplay.

The pendant was available in five different weights, ranging from about 1.9 grams to 2.15 grams, with prices increasing accordingly. It is now listed as out of stock and has been removed from the flagship online store.

Customer service representatives on multiple e-commerce platforms explained that the design was meant to convey the idea of overcoming difficulties and enjoying "multiplied" good fortune, adding that the character on the front was pronounced "mu".

When asked about its meaning, staff explained the ox represents diligence, the horse represents progress, and the design is a dual zodiac symbol. They denied any reference to overworked employees.
