Chinese comedian Shen Teng sparked online discussion after a brief on-air slip during a hosting segment of the 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala.

During a hosting segment, Shen momentarily forgot his lines and said, "I'm not only here to host — I also want to host," an unintended repetition that quickly drew laughter from viewers.

The moment soon went viral on Chinese social media, where many users treated the slip as part of the entertainment rather than a mistake. Some joked that the line "perfectly expressed how much he wanted to host," while others commented, "When others forget their lines, it's an accident; when Shen Teng forgets his, it becomes part of the show."
