央美毕业展多件作品遭到损坏,引关注!
毕业季来临,各大美院的毕业展再度成为热门“打卡地”。
据北京日报报道,央美毕业展开展数日后,已有多件作品遭到不同程度损坏。
Multiple artworks have been damaged just days into the graduation exhibitions at China's top art academies, sparking widespread concern. According to Beijing Daily, the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) undergraduate exhibition has seen several pieces damaged since its opening, even as graduation season turns these shows into popular attractions across the country.
Among the affected pieces is The Shape of Us, a cat-shaped interactive installation, designed to be touched and hugged, offering comfort and warmth. But now, a notice on the wall reads: "Light and sound interaction broken." The plush outer layer of the cat has also been peeled back.
The artist took to social media to appeal: "Please don't be so rough with my cat."
Another installation, You Gaze, I Gaze, has also been damaged. The creator, a student surnamed Zhang, explained that the piece consists of a mechanical louver that slowly opens and closes automatically. Inside, all the ropes controlling the movement have been torn out. "I already put up 'do not touch' signs and set up barrier tapes, yet the work was still treated violently. I feel heartbroken and helpless," Zhang said.
Many CAFA students have posted online about their installation pieces being ruined by visitors. Graduates from other art schools across the country have shared similar experiences on social media, urging the public to behave respectfully when viewing exhibitions.
