The final viewing window for Lycoris radiata, a star of the flower-viewing season also known as the red spider lily, has arrived. Mass blooms are drawing crowds of photographers to parks and roadsides in cities including Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, Nanjing in Jiangsu province, Hefei in Anhui province, and Xi'an in Shaanxi province. But experts warn the plant is highly toxic and should never be touched.

石蒜也叫“彼岸花”
石蒜最“出圈”的外号是彼岸花，也叫曼珠沙华，花期可从7月一直延续到9月。
石蒜原产于我国南方，多生于阴湿的山坡、河岸草地，在阳光充裕的环境下，会开得更加鲜艳茂盛。如今，国内许多南方城市的植物园都栽种了大片的石蒜。

为何石蒜“碰不得”？
▌石蒜全株都有毒，含有石蒜碱等多种神经毒素。
▌误食可导致恶心、呕吐、腹痛、腹泻，严重时伴随头晕、肢体麻木，甚至呼吸困难。
▌皮肤接触其汁液，可能出现红肿、瘙痒。
Ingesting any part of it can cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, with severe cases leading to dizziness, limb numbness, and even breathing difficulties. Skin contact with its sap may result in redness, swelling, and itching.
万一碰到或误食怎么办？
▌若皮肤不慎接触到石蒜汁液，需立即用大量清水和肥皂反复冲洗，冲洗时间不少于15分钟。冲洗后如果依旧红肿刺痛，要及时前往医院就诊。
▌一旦发生误食，应立即就医，并携带误食的植物样本，以便医生快速识别毒素。
If skin comes into contact with the sap, immediately rinse with plenty of water and soap for at least 15 minutes. If redness and stinging persist, seek medical attention promptly. In case of accidental ingestion, go to a hospital immediately and bring a sample of the plant so doctors can quickly identify the toxin.
