音乐家刘欢去世，享年63岁

Liu Huan, a retired associate professor at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) and a nationally renowned musician, died of illness in Shanghai at 9:52 am on Friday, at the age of 63, the university announced in an obituary on Saturday.
Born in Tianjin in 1963, Liu joined UIBE in 1991 as an associate professor in the arts teaching and research section and retired in 2023. Over more than three decades, he devoted himself to music education and received multiple teaching awards. He was appointed to the university's board of directors in 2011.
His course, History of Western Music, was a beloved part of the university's aesthetic education curriculum. He composed the music for UIBE's anthem, whose stirring melody is performed at major ceremonies and has become a shared spiritual mark for the university community.
Liu was accomplished in music education, composition, and singing, making significant contributions to music education in higher learning. His passing is a great loss to both the university and China's music community.
