中国日报这部沈阳纪录片,在布鲁塞尔获奖了!
A breakfast here alone is enough to understand why Shenyang has been named one of China's Happiest Cities for four consecutive years. For the short video, we invited Russian blogger Tina, who has a passion for Chinese culture and comes from a country that, like Shenyang, is also shaped by a strong industrial heritage and snowy winters, to explore the city.
Backed by a carefully selected production team of photographers, editors and other professionals, the short video drew more than 1,000 comments after its release. Many viewers said the film made those who had visited Shenyang want to return, while those who had never been there hoped to experience the city for themselves.
At the 8th China-EU Film Festival on Sept 26, China Daily's short video Shenyang: China's Happiest City? won the Meet China Best International Communication Award for City Image, recognized for its sincere storytelling that transcends geographical and cultural divides.
The China-EU Film Festival is being held in Brussels from Sept 23 to 29. During the weeklong event, a selection of Chinese films will be screened for Belgian audiences. The festival also features a special showcase of short films by young filmmakers and a series of exchange activities.
Yuan Mengqian, secretary-general of the China-EU Film Festival, said what the festival values most is the moment when a film truly connects with its audience.
"A specific story can offer a glimpse into an unfamiliar way of life, while also allowing people from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds to discover emotions they share," Yuan said. "Meaningful exchanges often begin at such moments."
