4人团伙偷13吨共享单车卖废铁，结果却亏本倒贴，西安警方：4人已被依法采取刑事强制措施

Four men in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, have been placed under criminal coercive measures on suspicion of theft. They stole more than 300 shared bicycles, 13 metric tons in total, over 8 days and sold them as scrap, only to lose money on the scheme.
今年8月，嫌疑人刘某偶然听到旁人说起共享单车行业经营困难。他想，既然单车行情不好，偷偷拆了当废铁卖掉，绝对是稳赚不赔的“快钱”。
随后，刘某立刻拉拢3名无固定收入的好友，就此组建了盗窃团伙，准备铤而走险违法牟利。
The suspected ringleader, Liu, launched the plan in August after overhearing someone say the bike-sharing business was struggling. He concluded that stealing bikes and selling them for scrap would be a sure way to make quick money. He then recruited three friends with no steady income.
为了转运赃车，刘某专门借钱租赁货车；为了藏匿拆解车辆，他在郊区租下独立库房；为了拉拢同伙干活，他开出每人每天500元的“高薪”。一切准备就绪，4人正式开启了夜间流窜盗窃的荒唐操作。
Liu borrowed money to rent a truck and a warehouse in the suburbs, and promised each accomplice 500 yuan a day.
8天狂偷300余辆，重达13吨
短短8天时间里，4人深夜驾驶货车，辗转陕西西安多个区域，专挑路边停放的共享单车疯狂盗窃。短短数日，他们累计盗取三家平台300余辆共享单车，总重量高达13吨。
为了规避平台定位追查、掩人耳目，几人将所有被盗单车统一转运至郊区库房，逐一拆除定位设备，随后冒充平台工作人员，以4000元/吨的价格，将整车当作废铁对外售卖。
In just eight days, they stole more than 300 bikes belonging to three bike-sharing operators. The haul weighed 13 tons.
The men moved the bikes to the suburban warehouse, removed their location devices to avoid tracking, and posed as platform staff to sell the bicycles as scrap at 4,000 yuan per ton.
几番倒卖下来，团伙累计流水达五万余元。看似收获满满，可当主犯刘某细细核算成本后，彻底傻眼了。
五万余元的卖赃流水看似可观，可货车租赁费、库房租金、同伙工钱、拆解人工费……各项开支一一抵扣后，不仅分文未赚，反倒亏本倒贴，连嫌疑人自己都直呼荒唐。就在几人盘算着如何“补亏损”时，民警早已锁定了全部线索。
The sales generated more than 50,000 yuan. But after deducting truck rental, warehouse rent, wages for the accomplices, and labor costs for stripping the bikes, the group made no profit and actually ended up in the red.
Before the men could find a way to cover their losses, police had identified all suspects.
目前，刘某等4名嫌疑人因涉嫌盗窃罪，已被西安经开公安依法采取刑事强制措施。
警方郑重提醒
任何妄图通过偷盗、侵占公私财物牟利的行为，均属于违法犯罪，必将受到法律的严厉制裁。切勿因一时贪念心存侥幸，触碰法律红线，最终为自己的荒唐行为付出沉重代价。
Police warned that anyone who tries to profit by stealing or misappropriating public or private property will face severe legal punishment.
同时提醒各大共享单车运营企业，强化车辆日常巡检、升级智能防控技术，发现车辆异常丢失、被盗情况，及时报警处置，共同守护城市公共秩序与公共财产安全。
They also urged shared-bike companies to strengthen daily inspections, upgrade smart anti-theft and monitoring systems, and report abnormal losses or thefts to police promptly.
