高铁凌晨通知候补成功,网友早上起床发现车已经开走了,12306回应
A woman in Shenzhen missed her train after a 12306 waitlist ticket was confirmed overnight while she was asleep — a story that has resonated with many online.
She said in a post on Wednesday that she planned to return to her hometown in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region that day but, with direct tickets sold out, submitted a waitlist order. The system confirmed it at 12:38 am. She only discovered it when she woke up, by which time the train had already departed.
She later added that she had planned to take a train from Shenzhen North Station on Wednesday, but turned to the waitlist after failing to secure a ticket. The system confirmed a seat on the 7:46 am service at 12:38 am. Because she did not check her phone overnight, she missed it.
Railway customer service said tickets cannot be refunded once the train has left, but passengers can reschedule once before midnight that day.
The 12306 system processes waitlist confirmations around the clock, the staff said. Passengers can set a deadline when submitting a waitlist order; if they don't, the system defaults to six hours before departure. The 12:38 am confirmation occurred because another passenger refunded or released a seat overnight, leaving about seven hours before the 7:46 am departure. The system then automatically fulfilled the waitlist in order.
