男子错过高速出口，竟掉头开远光灯逆行10公里，被抓时狡辩“不知道违法”

During a holiday period, the sharp increase in highway traffic makes it all the more important for drivers to follow traffic rules and exercise caution. Recently, a dangerous incident occurred on the Beijing-Harbin Expressway in Siping, Jilin province, when a driver missed an exit and then inexplicably began driving against traffic.

At around 8 pm that evening, police received multiple reports of a car driving against the flow of traffic at high speed with its high beams on, forcing other vehicles to swerve to avoid it. Police soon identified the driver, surnamed Fan, who had missed an exit while driving from Dalian to Harbin. Rather than taking the next exit, Fan made a U-turn and drove against traffic for more than 10 kilometers to return to the missed exit. Fan initially denied the violation and evaded police, later being arrested at a supermarket he operated in Harbin. He still claimed he did not know he had broken the law.

Police said the driver's prolonged wrong-way driving on the enclosed, high-speed expressway posed a serious threat to the lives and property of others on the road. Fan was fined 200 yuan, given 12 penalty points on his driving license, and criminally detained on suspicion of endangering public safety by dangerous means.
