House prices are too high for common people.

She might be a little common at times, but she was certainly not boring.

Common can be used disapprovingly to talk about people and things that are considered to be from a low social class. To say that people or things are not different, special, or unexpected in any way, don't use 'common', use ordinary.

The technology is difficult for the average person to understand.

The information should be made available to the general public.

The king was said to be out of touch with the common people.

其他语境里面还是建议改用ordinary people/ the average person。
