应急管理部发布《关于给予龚宝冬等12名同志奖励的决定》（成文时间为18日）。
应急管理部决定， 对在基层防灾避险工作中壮烈牺牲的龚宝冬同志追记一等功， 对作出重要贡献的彭迪等11名同志分别给予记功、嘉奖奖励 。
China's Ministry of Emergency Management has honored 12 people for their contributions to grassroots disaster prevention and risk reduction, posthumously awarding first-class merit to Gong Baodong, who died while evacuating residents during a geological disaster in Pengshui Miao and Tujia autonomous county, Chongqing.

除 龚宝冬外， 重庆市彭水苗族土家族自治县汉葭街道还有三名网格员获奖励，分别为 彭迪、 何光学、 向福超。
The decision, dated Oct 18 and announced on Tuesday, also awarded merit citations and commendations to Peng Di and 10 others. Peng, He Guangxue and Xiang Fuchao, three other community workers from Hanjia subdistrict in Pengshui, were among those recognized.
今年7月17日，重庆彭水县汉葭街道发生一起山体崩塌，龚宝冬与其他3名网格员一起赶往现场排查安全隐患。当时， 龚宝冬与彭迪 一组，他们看见远处山体不断有碎石滚落，简要汇报情况后，迅速挨家挨户敲门提醒，让群众尽快转移。
On July 17, a slope collapse struck the area. Gong and the three other community workers rushed to the scene to check for potential hazards. Gong and Peng worked together to alert residents. After spotting rocks continuing to fall from a distant slope, they briefly reported the situation before going door to door, urging residents to evacuate as quickly as possible.
网格员 何光学 最先接到居民的险情上报，当即核实情况并上报社区，随后组织人员沿街呼喊、逐户劝导群众撤离。
网格员 向福超 全程参与群众疏散，协助设置临时警戒线，引导群众分两侧有序避险，灾情发生后第一时间返回现场，持续投身抢险救援与群众安置。

然而，就在组织帮助群众转移途中，山体发生崩塌。 彭迪被飞溅碎石击中 ，失去意识倒在废墟中 ，最终被救援人员发现并送医， 龚宝冬却失去了联系。 （此前报道： 00后网格员龚宝冬，仍在失联中 ）
As they helped residents reach safety, the slope collapsed. Peng was struck by falling debris and lost consciousness, falling to the ground amid the rubble. Rescuers later found Peng and took her to hospital, while Gong remained missing.
7月29日凌晨4时，救援人员在搜寻彭水山体崩塌灾害现场C区深处时，发现遇难人员遗骸。经DNA鉴定，确认是龚宝冬同志。 （此前报道： 痛心！失联的龚宝冬，遗骸已被找到 ）
7月30日，重庆市政府发布《关于评定龚宝冬同志为烈士的批复》，表示龚宝冬同志在彭水县山体崩塌灾害中，组织群众避险撤离时不幸牺牲，死难情形符合《烈士褒扬条例》评定烈士的有关规定，市政府同意 评定龚宝冬同志为烈士 。
At around 4 am on July 29, rescuers searching deep within Zone C of the collapse site found human remains. DNA testing confirmed that they belonged to Gong. On July 30, the Chongqing municipal government approved his designation as a martyr.
8月6日上午，龚宝冬烈士安葬仪式在彭水县烈士陵园举行。
