男孩在超市偷拿一瓶饮料，被父亲送到派出所“自首”，民警见状拿出一副手铐……
双语君约 3 分钟10月22日，据湖北“平安宜昌”消息，10月15日傍晚6时许，伍家岗区公安分局向阳派出所接警大厅走进了一对父子，父亲手中紧攥着一把戒尺，语气克制而郑重：
“孩子在超市拿了瓶饮料没付钱，我带他来‘自首’。”
A father in Yichang, Hubei province, took his young son to a police station after the boy stole a bottle of iced tea from a supermarket, seeking help in teaching him a lesson.
At around 6 pm on Oct 15, the father and son arrived at the reception hall of Xiangyang police station. Clutching a wooden ruler, the father said, "My child took a bottle of drink from a supermarket without paying. I've brought him here to turn himself in."
原来，当天放学途中，男孩路过小区门口的超市时，趁店主招呼其他顾客的间隙，从门口冷藏柜里拿了一瓶冰红茶，悄悄塞进衣服里，带回了家。他自以为藏得隐蔽，没想到很快就被父亲发现了。
得知原委后，这位父亲做出了一个出人意料的决定：牵着孩子的手直奔派出所。
The boy had been walking home from school when he took a bottle of iced tea from a refrigerator near the entrance of a supermarket, hid it under his clothes and carried it home while the owner was serving other customers. He thought he had gotten away with it, but his father soon found out and took him straight to the police station.
“小事不能小视，错了就要认账。”在父亲看来，哪怕只是一瓶几块钱的饮料也不能让孩子形成“不经允许偷拿别人东西无所谓” 的认知。
了解事情经过后，值班民警男孩叫到身旁，蹲下身来看着孩子的眼睛，一字一句地说道：“勿以恶小而为之。今天拿一瓶饮料是小事，可一旦养成了习惯，长大了就可能犯下大错。”
The officer on duty crouched down to speak to the boy, explaining that taking something without paying might seem minor but could lead to more serious consequences if it became a habit.
说着，民警拿出一副手铐，轻轻放在男孩的手上：“你现在年纪小，犯了错还有改正的机会；等你到16岁、18岁如果再犯错误戴上它，就不是今天这样的性质了。”男孩看着认真地点了点头。
The officer then gently placed a pair of handcuffs on the boy's wrists. "You're still young, and you have time to correct your mistakes. But if you make another mistake at 16 or 18 and end up in handcuffs, things will be very different." The boy listened and nodded solemnly.
教育结束后，民警陪同父子二人返回了超市。在父亲的坚持下，男孩掏出自己攒下的零花钱，一分不少地交到店主手中，为自己的行为承担赔偿，并郑重地向店主道歉，最终得到了店主的谅解。
After the talk, the officer accompanied the father and son back to the supermarket. At his father's insistence, the boy used his saved pocket money to pay for the drink and sincerely apologized. The shop owner eventually forgave him.
一瓶冰红茶价值微薄，而这一堂及时的 “成长课”，却重若千钧。
