前不久，中国日报的记者采访了几位在清华、人大、复旦等高校就读的外国留学生，结果一整个大震惊——这些留学生也太了解中国了吧！

中国式现代化、全过程人民民主、一带一路、中国高铁、中国速度等表述信手拈来，前因后果、历史现状、过程影响也都讲得头头是道，让记者不禁感叹：还有什么是这些外国朋友不知道的！

Led by the CPC, China is able to pool strength from every sector to achieve great things, which is the core of the success of the Chinese path to modernization, according to Filip Filipovic, from Serbia, who is pursuing postgraduate studies in international politics at Fudan University in Shanghai.

Another of the 25-year-old's takeaways on Chinese modernization is that China is a country with the past, present and future co-existing.

"Just take Shanghai, where I have lived for 18 years, as an example. Every time a friend visits, I take them to Chenghuang Temple, the Bund and the Lujiazui area."

"The three places, which are less than a kilometer from one another, represent ancient, contemporary and modern China."

"In fact, China as a whole is a place where the old meets new, and one can see traditional culture in modern cities."

"It can be said that China is a country with width and depth. It is three-dimensional, rich and comprehensive."

He says that China's whole-process people's democracy is "definitely a great policy" and will help the country achieve complete modernization. He also feels the Communist Party of China is doing a great job in terms of improving ordinary people's lives and its achievements are obvious.

"It was surprising for me to see that millions of poor rural people have been lifted out of poverty, a brilliant achievement China has made happen in a short period of time. I am also impressed by the Chinese idea of 'a community with a shared future for mankind' which provides a positive value orientation and practical plan for the reform of the global governance."

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Belt and Road family has been expanding day-by-day, connecting East and West and creating opportunities for all the participants in the initiative.

"One of the biggest differences is population. China has a huge population, but China is dealing with every individual, not just with some groups or individuals. China is accelerating modernization by increasing production and ensuring peoples' happiness."

"China is investing a lot in renewable energy sources, especially in terms of contributing to nuclear energy. And also, China is trying to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and contributing to creating a clean environment."

"Right now, I live in Beijing and I've been to Tianjin. It was a really great trip for me because I'd never been on the high-speed train. I got on a high-speed train, and we were traveling around at 300 kilometer per hour. It was an amazing experience for me."

For Christian Wagner, Chinese modernization is the great goal of the Chinese people, and also of humanity and the country's success in recent decades has been shaped by its reforms. He also feels that the practical objective of the modernization of China is to lift the entire population into a new stage of modernization, and thereby ensure prosperity, peace and economic recovery.

"In terms of the rule of law, the change is really inspiring. The Personal Information Protection Law and the new Civil Code of 2021 are all new developments and one can see the Chinese characteristics. And the rule of law is really adjusted to the economic situation, to people's lives."

"For me, it was so impressive that all the cities are so different and they have their own characteristics. And especially what I really like is that they always promote local culture. The equality of all the different ethnic groups in China is even written into the Constitution."
