Israel's military said its forces reached on Sunday the coast of Gaza City and encircled Hamas in the city, as the Palestinian death toll in the enclave rose to 9,770 amid Israel's relentless bombardment.

"The forces divided the Strip to Gaza-north and Gaza-south and control the shoreline," Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesperson Daniel Hagari said in a briefing, adding that "massive attacks are currently being carried out in the northern Gaza Strip, including the killing of Hamas commanders."

Internet and telephone lines were cut again in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian communication company Paltel said in a statement. The blackout marked the third time that the communication in the enclave was cut off since the beginning of the conflict.

The death toll has exceeded 10,000 since the Israel-Hamas conflict broke out on Oct 7, according to Palestinian and Israeli sources.

Turkiye said it was recalling its ambassador to Israel for consultations, and Turkish media reported that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he could no longer speak to Netanyahu in light of the bombardment.

Colombia has recalled its ambassador to Israel over Israel's offensive in Gaza, President Gustavo Petro said on Tuesday.

Colombia's diplomatic move came just hours after Bolivia broke off relations with Israel and Chile recalled its ambassador to Israel for consultations.

Honduras recalled its ambassador to Israel for consultations due to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the Gaza Strip, said Honduran Foreign Affairs Minister Enrique Reina.
