To truly experience Chinese New Year, one must not miss the traditional market hustle. With its abundant array of farm produce and festive decorations embracing the spirit of the Year of the Dragon, Melissa is enveloped in the authentic essence of the Chinese New Year.
"Bargaining" is an essential skill for shopping in markets, offering a pleasure that can't be found in shopping malls. As Melissa tries bargaining, she discovers that locals are eager to chat and don’t mind haggling. Through this back-and-forth, the distance between people seems to shrink, and she truly feels the warmth and friendliness of the locals.

每一盏彩灯里都闪烁着自贡人的智慧和才华。古老的技艺在传承中不断焕发生机，传统文化和现代元素在时光长河中交融碰撞，让自贡彩灯得以在岁月的沉淀中历久弥新。
Each lantern glimmers with the wisdom and creativity of the people of Zigong. Through the continuous transmission of ancient techniques, they are infused with new vitality. Traditional culture intertwines with modern elements in the river of time, enabling Zigong lanterns to remain ever fresh despite the passing of years.
▌点亮世界的灯
始于唐宋、兴于明清、盛于当代，自贡彩灯有800多年历史。
中国彩灯博物馆副研究员张方来告诉梅丽莎，今年是第30届国际恐龙灯会，但是自贡灯会早在1964年就开始举办了，到今年正好是60年。
据了解，改革开放以来，自贡灯会走遍了祖国大江南北，先后在北京、上海、广州、武汉、南京等40多个大中城市和地区展出。进入九十年代以后，自贡彩灯走出国门，先后在新加坡、泰国、马来西亚、韩国、日本等国家亮相。
截至目前，自贡彩灯已累计吸引全球5亿多人次观灯，仅2023年自贡彩灯就点亮了19个国家和地区的71座城市，海内外布展超300场。
As of now, Zigong lanterns have attracted over 500 million visitors globally. In 2023 alone, Zigong lanterns illuminated 71 cities in 19 countries and regions, with over 300 exhibitions held worldwide.
逛了一场灯会，又好像不仅仅是一场灯会。自贡灯会传承了历史文化，也照亮了当代文明。漫步其中的梅丽莎好像化为彩灯的一部分，感受着中国人独特的表达方式和浪漫的想象力。
这一盏盏彩灯，也将承载着博大精深的中国文化，像星星般在世界更多地方绽放光彩，让越来越多的人领略到自贡彩灯和中国文化的神奇魅力。
