污蔑中国日报出镜记者是“AI人”？CNN又一次刷新下限......

这则新闻报道出现在CNN晚7点黄金时段的节目Erin Burnett OutFront中。节目讨论的话题本来是“AI换脸造成侵权”。然而，节目后半段却非常丝滑地将中国日报起底工作室记者孟哲、徐潘依如的出镜视频与毫不相关的深度伪造的美女“带货”视频并列剪辑到一起，从而得出结论称这会“放大虚假信息”“威胁到民主”。
看到该报道的两位记者心情大约是：
近些年，AI技术快速发展，起底工作室也在积极研究利用AI提高制作效率。为使新闻产品能更及时地触达更多观众，工作室记者使用AI配音来节省音频录制时间。相关视频在开篇画面右上方都标注了相应文字说明。
但需要强调的是，工作室所有的视频脚本，尤其是其中的论据和观点，都完全由记者本人创作。
All of the video scripts, especially the facts and ideas within them, are 100 percent written by the journalists themselves.
CNN并没有事先做好调查，也没有联络两位记者进行核实，就将他们和其他网络自媒体AI主播归为一类，这是一种极其偷懒且降智的做法。不过，这里需要探讨的问题还不止于此。
CNN did not do a good job of research in advance, nor did it contact the two reporters to verify, and put them in the same category as other social media AI anchors, which is an extremely lazy and irresponsible practice. But there is more to explore here.
新闻产品可以借助AI技术吗？分享己方观点就等于“扩大虚假信息”吗？CNN这条新闻的作者和其中的受访嘉宾都是什么来历？

以下是两位记者本人就此事的表态：

我们和节目里举例的情况完全是两码事。节目中的案例是一方盗用另一方的形象（image）和身份（identity）做造假视频，但我们的声音和形象都是本人，我们主动利用AI提高制作效率，这跟歌手唱歌修音或者是拍照用美颜相机其实没有区别。
此外，说我们“扩大虚假信息”也是不对的。我们的短视频作品是在基于事实的前提下分享观点（share opinions based on facts）。
把两个不相关的东西移花接木剪辑到一起，这会让观众以为中国日报记者是AI生成的，属于恶意抹黑。
五天后，工作室收到了威尔的回信。
In Will's reply, he pinned the blame on his research team, claiming that the research team believed the video and audio were manipulated by AI technology to increase efficiency and delivery — even though the video was based on a real reporter, and the script was provided by the China Daily team. This is, in fact, the same as what we published, and it doesn't need to be investigated by CNN's so-called "research team".
