霸王茶姬道歉!两负责人停职
Chinese milk tea brand Chagee issued an apology on Monday following a public outcry after one of its chain stores in Zhoukou city, Henan province, displayed the personal information of its resigned staff. The company admitted that the handling of the incident by the store was highly inappropriate and emphasized that they had no authority to disclose employee information publicly. This action was deemed inconsistent with the company's core values. Chagee has since instructed the store to immediately remove the public display. Additionally, the company has initiated a suspension and investigation of the responsible individuals at the store and regional management levels. A special team has been dispatched to the location for a thorough verification of the information and circumstances.
According to media reports, a woman in Zhoukou took to social media on July 14 to report that after resigning from Chagee, her identity card number was publicly posted by the store. The woman stated that when she contacted the store afterward, they claimed it was posted for only one hour to show to a supervisor.
Revealing another person's ID number without valid reasons violates their privacy rights, said Zhang Lijie, a lawyer from Beijing Jingqin Law Firm. Regardless of the authenticity of the displayed ID, sharing someone's name should strictly follow the principle of necessity. Internal management issues of an employer are not public concerns, making public disclosure unnecessary, Zhang added.
