Chinese fresh drinks specialist Mixue Group will start taking orders from investors to raise over US$400 million through an initial public offering in Hong Kong, which is seeing renewed interest in listings among companies.
The Henan province-based company plans to sell 17.06 million shares for 202.50 Hong Kong dollars each, equivalent to US$26.04 a share, Mixue said Friday.
Based on the offer price, the total size of the IPO is expected to be 3.45 billion Hong Kong dollars, equivalent to US$443.7 million.
Mixue is entering the Hong Kong IPO market at a time when several companies, including battery manufacturers, toy producers, and chemical material suppliers, are actively pursuing listings there.
The Hong Kong stock exchange has seen nearly 10 listings so far this year, and analysts expect the momentum to continue. Many expect it to be among the top three global IPO venues this year.
PricewaterhouseCoopers said in a report last month that it expects around 70-80 companies to list in Hong Kong, raising between US$17 billion and US$21 billion this year.
Founded in the late 1990s, Mixue sells products such as freshly made fruit drinks, teas, ice cream, and coffee, typically priced around one U.S. dollar, in a franchise network of more than 45,000 stores.
The company expects shares to start trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange on March 3. It has already secured five cornerstone investors who have agreed to take up 45% of the offer size.
