Renowned actor Daniel Wu has ventured into the field of education by launching an English teaching account on popular Chinese social media platforms such as Douyin and Xiaohongshu. His exclusive spoken English course has quickly garnered significant attention and sparked discussions online.
In his account bio, Wu revealed that he is a co-founder of "Grace Lore", the company behind the course. The curriculum features over 1,000 practical daily English phrases, aiming to improve students' conversational skills. Additionally, Wu integrates current cultural trends into his teaching materials.
Priced at 398 yuan, the course includes 84 lessons, each lasting approximately 8 to 10 minutes.
英语专业出身的消费者林女士体验完吴彦祖所开办的英语口语课后表示，“84节课包含了34节口语发音课和25节音标精讲，和其他线上网课相比价格并不贵”。
冲着吴彦祖授课，消费者李女士购买了398元的《吴彦祖带你学口语》课程后对北京商报记者说：“每节十分钟的课程其实只有五分钟是吴彦祖讲课，剩下的时间由其他老师讲解知识。而宣传的AI陪练，也只有语音对话的形式，并非视频对话，明星更像是让人购买课程的噱头。”

11日上午，据中新经纬报道，抖音平台课程售卖客服表示，《吴彦祖带你学口语》一共84节课，每日零点更新1节录播课程，每节课程包含课程视频+口语对练，一节课完整学完大约20分钟。
对于消费者质疑的吴彦祖授课时长问题，该客服称，课程是由吴彦祖和高途主讲老师共同完成，但吴彦祖占比多些。
