A tourist’s online post on Thursday sparked public concern after alleging that a girl was harassed at the popular Hongyadong scenic area in Chongqing. According to the post, a woman in red tried to force the girl into a photo shoot and verbally attacked her when she refused. Police were called, and the group managed to leave safely.

In response, the Yuzhong District Culture and Tourism Bureau launched an investigation alongside local police and regulators. Authorities confirmed that the incident occurred Wednesday evening, involving a promotional photographer who tapped the girl’s shoulder to pitch a service, sparking a verbal argument.

Police arrived within two minutes to mediate. The tourists left shortly after due to other plans. Authorities are now reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing those involved to determine appropriate action.

Officials issued an apology for the incident and promised to protect tourist rights and improve order in the local tourism market. They also thanked the public for its continued attention and support.
