Weibo stated the reason as: "This account has been banned from being followed due to violations of relevant laws and regulations."
When contacted by a reporter on the same day, Zhang Xuefengbriefly commented that the ban was "an account issue" before ending the call.

According to reports, a staff member from his studio responded to inquiries by saying Zhang is "currently doing some self-examination".
