Weakening Fundamentals, But …

Last week economic data suggested that China’s economic growth continued to decelerate, and the Leading Economic Indicator plunged(Figure 1). Most notably, while the growth in monetary aggregate beat expectation, private long-term borrowing declined. This is the first time in two decades when we have seen a decline in this stat.

基本面不强，但…

上周的经济数据显示，经济增长继续放缓，同时先行经济指标大幅下滑（图1）。需要注意的是，尽管货币总量增长超出预期，但私人部门长期借款却出现下降。这是二十年来我们首次看到这一数据出现下滑。
